Dr. Josephine Nanson, PhD
Josephine Nanson is a Registered Doctoral Clinical Psychologist currently in private practice providing neuro-psychological assessments. She is also an adjunct professor in the Psychology Department at the University of Saskatchewan. Previously, Nanson was a psychologist with the Alvin Buckwold Centre and her responsibilities included the assessment of infants, children, adolescents and adults referred because of developmental disabilities.
She is a founding member of the Saskatchewan Coordinating Committee on FASD, and is considered a national expert on the subject. She is widely published and her clinical and research interests include: child and family assessment, Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder, child and adult neuro-psychology. Nanson has been a key informant on a number of national initiatives including: Best Practices: Fetal Alcohol Syndrome/Fetal Alcohol Effects, the Effects of Other Substance use During Pregnancy and the soon to be published, FASD Diagnostic Guidelines by Health Canada.
