Brief Description: A transitional housing resource for at-risk 16-22 year olds (male and female). Our goal is to prepare youth for independent stable living through provision of appropriate supports and stability. At any one time, they accept 2 residents with FASD (20% of clientele). Residents can stay for up to two years, and this is extended for those with FASD. Caretaker is onsite with day staff to support residents. There is consistent structure and all clientele must follow. More than two clients with FASD would take too much of staff time due to funding cuts that cut staffing levels three years ago. Former residents can move back if needed.

The Place has a current wait list of approximately 8-10 youth. Many of our youth stay with us for 2 years and so we sometimes go for 6 months or more with no openings and then we may end up with 4 at once. We also offer support to youth who do not live in our building but need independent living support and guidance.
