Brief Description: mandate is to provide developmental assessment services to children in inner city schools and daycares who would not otherwise access them because of poverty, illiteracy, difficulty getting referral to a tertiary institution, housing instability, psychosocial and addiction issues in parents. Referrals come directly from caregivers and educators. Program targets children and families who are unlikely to receive diagnostic assessments through more traditional routes. Many previously undiagnosed cases of FASD are uncovered during comprehensive and compassionate assessments.
