FASD Collaboration Roundtables:  An Inter-Sectoral Capacity Building Demonstration Project

Brief Description: An FASD Resource Centre will support inter-sectoral capacity building initiatives by partner systems and community organizations on the Surrey and Vancouver FASD Collaboration Roundtables to provide competent, respectful, coordinated services for children and youth with FASD and their families.  This project will include two city (Surrey and Vancouver) leadership, protocol development, cross-sectoral training, a resource centre, and best practice networks.  Major partners are the Vancouver Police Department, Surrey RCMP, Vancouver and Surrey School Boards, Ministry of Children and Families – Fraser and Vancouver regions, PLEA, Children’s Foundation, PCRS, Child Development Centre.  All have committed resources, time, staff, including a full-time police officer to assist with all youth files where FASD is known or suspected in Vancouver.
