Maxxine Wright Place Project for High Risk Pregnant and Early Parenting Women

Brief Description: Primary healthcare resource for high risk pregnant and early parenting women who may put their unborn babies at risk because of their personal struggles with substance use, mental health diagnoses, experiences of violence and abuse and their reluctance to seek medical attention and support services. It will give pregnant women access to infant development programs, a community kitchen, nutritionist, prenatal clinic, emergency daycare, access to doctors, nurses, social workers, mental health and addictions counselors, all on-site. Centre will also include 36 subsidized housing units, 12 for pregnant and homeless women, and 24 for second-stage housing units for 18 month stays.
