Brief Description: development of an FASD focused educational support system in EJ Dunn Middle School. This has evolved out of a focus on FASD and the changing environment in the school system since recent school closures which provided and opportunity to do something different.
This has led to the establishment of a One Room School House as a support to FASD students who are unable to sustain total immersion into the regular core program. The object has been to integrate these students as much as possible into the Core areas and explorations and for them to have a place they can fall back to when the going gets tough. Goal is o have one teacher at each Grade level 6, 7 and 8 to support FASD students in their Core programs with the One Room School being their fall back support. This will be supported by a close liaison with home and with luck an integrated support with community agencies.
