Brief Description: The Saskatchewan Prevention Institute and the FASD Support Network of Saskatchewan partnered in 2004 to establish a Saskatchewan FASD Speakers Bureau. This successful, collaborative and cost effective train the trainer model has continued building community capacity and provided substantial provincial outreach. These professional speakers and trainers are strategically located throughout the province and are valued for their professional expertise, knowledge of FASD, experience, interpersonal skills and dedication. Research and evaluation of this model program includes information on delivery and population demographics and a trainer needs assessment survey which answers the questions: Why has the Saskatchewan train the trainer model succeeded and continued? Why do its members remain so strongly committed to sharing what they have learned about FASD and to offering hope?
