Brief Description: This is a three year paraprofessional intensive home visitation program for women that meet the following criteria: Pregnant or up to two months post partum, use alcohol and drugs heavily (this is quantified) and are not effectively connected to other service agencies.
The databases include:
  1. Intake database: detailed history of the women enrolled in the Stop FASD program. Information includes: birth control history (type, regularity of use), history of past pregnancies (custody, diagnosis, miscarried), childhood history (abuse, child welfare involvement, parental alcohol and drug use, etc), housing stability (past three years, past year, current); detailed history of drug and alcohol use (age at first involvement with each drug, frequency and amount of involvement in past three years, current pattern of involvement with each drug, frequency and amount of each drugs use during current pregnancy), connection to services coded to indicate level of engagement and effectiveness, involvement with the law (past charges, current charges, time served, mental health diagnosis. Etc.
  2. Six month assessment database: This information is collected at six-month interval on women in the program for the three years that they are involved. The database includes alcohol and drug treatment, time spent with mentor, child custody of all children; drug alcohol use, family planning, connection to services, risk behaviors, subsequent birth (and level of exposure), etc.
  3. Exit Interview database (similar to Intake database).
Goal setting database - women set and evaluate their goals every four months. This information is coded in a standardize manner and data entered.
