What Happens After the Multidisciplinary Diagnosis for FASD? Supporting the Well-Being of Children and Youth with FASD in the School Environment

Brief Description:
This grant will provide the resources to work across institutions and across the province by teleconferencing and one face-to-face meeting to develop a firm proposal to submit to a funding agency (CIHR) in early 2007. Provisional questions for the larger grant are: (1) What are the needs and concerns of teachers and caregivers” (2) How can caregivers and schools work together for the best interest of the child with FASD? (3) What are the key characteristics of educational programs that successfully engage teachers and caregivers in both health prevention and intervention? (4) What type of district based plans can be developed to address early intervention needs, to achieve smooth transitions between scH can these district based plans be implemented?
